Police arrests burglars, stolen property recovered

Srinagar: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested burglars at various places and recovered stolen property worth lacs.

“Police Station Nowhatta received a written complaint from one Manzoor Ahmad wani s/o Gh Qadir r/o Batshah Mohalla Lalbazar to the effect that he parked his vehicle bearing no DL10CA 3854 opposite Rung-hamam Nowhatta and costly pashmina shawls of different colours worth Rs 3,50000 were kept in vehicle and he locked the doors completely and went to nearby Masjid for offering Asar prayers,” police spokesman said.

Giving details he said that on his return,he found pashmina shawls missing from the said vehicle.Bascally some unknown theif/theives, has broken the lock and stolen the same.

In this regard case FIR No 20/2018 u/s 379 RPC was registered in Police Station Nowhatta and investigation taken up by police team led by SHO Nowhatta Wasim Ahmad.

“Within an hour stolen property was recovered from One suspected person namely ubaid Farooq Rather s/o Farooq Ahmad R/o Tabtien Colony Eidgah Srinagar.The theif was arrested & stolen property worth lacs of rupees was recovered.The invistigation is still going on and further arrests are execpected,” he said.

In another case of burglary,Police Station Nowhatta recovered gold worth one lac during investigation of case FIR No 17/2018 u/s 457,380 RPC arrested burglar namely Amir Altaf Zargar s/o Mohd Altaf Zargar r/o Bakur Alastang.

In one of the other case of burglary police station recovered ,LED, cash 4,0000 & other articles in case FIR No 21/2018 u/s 457,380 RPC & arrested the burglar namely Basit Ahmad Bhat s/o Mohd Abdullah Bhat r/o Natipora A/p Fateh Kadal Srinagar.
