Srinagar: Authorities in Srinagar are unlikely to allow weekly Sunday market in Lal Chowk in wake of a rally by PDP, the ruling partner in coalition with BJP in government in the state. Official sources said that decision was taken at a meeting by police top brass today. Sources said that security has been heightened in and around the venue.
The market normally stretches from City Centre Lal Chowk to Polo View on roadsides and is a major attraction for customers.
