Pulwama : Government forces have been tightened security on Srinagar Jammu highway following back to back attacks in many parts of South Kashmir from last few days.
A large number of forces personnel were deployed in Pampore, Lethpora, Awantipora and other areas of South Kashmir along the highway on Saturday to prevent attacks in the area.
Eyewitnesses told INS that forces also conducted frisking and searches of vehicles at many places.
An eyewitness told INS two wheelers were stopped in particular and properly searched. Forces also checked identity cards of the people before allowing them to go.
Earlier, militants carried many attacks in South Kashmir with grenades and firing in Pulwama, Tral and Anantnag areas, from last couple of days.
