Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested a Kupwara resident in Nagrota army camp attack in November 2016 in which seven forces personnel were killed.
According to media reports, quoting IG NIA Alok Mittal, said that the agency on Saturday arrested Syed Muneer-ul-Hassan Qadri, a resident of Hurhama, Lolab, Lalpora in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district during the investigation of a case, RC-16/2016/NIA/DLI.
“The Jammu and Kashmir Police has played a key role in the arrest of the accused,” he said.
Three militants stormed Nagrota Army Camp killing seven army men on November 29, 2016.
According to NIA IG preliminary interrogation of Qadri has revealed that the attack was carried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammad and the conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan.
“He revealed to have received a freshly infiltrated group of three Pakistani militants from the Samba sector a day before the attack,” said Mittal.
“They subsequently stayed at a hotel in Jammu and then left the attackers at Nagrota outside the army camp late at night and proceeded to the Kashmir Valley.
