Major Gogoi to face Court of Inquiry

Srinagar: After Indian Army general Bipin Rawat’s comments that Army’s Major Gogoi, if found guilty will be punished,  Court of Inquiry (CoI) have been ordered against him after he was arrested from a hotel in Srinagar with a woman few days back.

“If found guilty he will be punished, will set example,” Rawat had told reporters.
While police is already probing the matter, Gogoi will now have to face the the two-member Court of Inquiry panel that will  now probe the matter and recommend action thereoff.
Major Gogoi along with the woman was taken to a police station from where he was handed over to his unit.
Police said that at 11 am they got a call from Hotel Grand Mamta about an altercation at the hotel, where he had booked a room for two, including a budgam girl.
