Drug Peddler arrested with 4 kg poppy in Upper Bazar Qazigund, Kulgam

May 24:- Police on Wednesday arrested a drug peddler with  4 kgs of poppy straw in upper bazar Qazigund of Kulgam district.

According to police statement police had laid a naka near upper bazar Qazigund  and during checking a suspected person was intercepted and apprehended .

“On search of the said person 4 kgs of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of Zaheer abass S/O Mohd Yousuf Magray R/O Bagot Tehsil Batote Distt. Ramban who was arrested on spot,” said police.

They also said that a case Fir no. 126/2018 u /s 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in police station Qazigund and investigation is going on and arrest of more smugglers, recoveries are expected.
