Anantnag: Anantnag town has been turned into a garbage dumping site as huge piles of waste is lying on the roads, irritating people as foul smell emanates from it.

According to locals mounds of garbage can be seen littered near Achabal Adda in Anantnag town.

Accusations that Anantnag Municipal Council (AMC) is a ‘failure in mitigation of problem’ is galore.

“The concerned authorities have failed to arrange a garbage dumping facility here, thus it has evoked widespread resentment among the public as heaps of garbage are lying scattered near Achabal adda area of main town Anantnag,” locals rue.

Shopkeepers at Achabal Adda in Town had demanded ‘effective removal of the garbage and urged government to take immediate steps in that regard.”

“It seems that government is least bothered about the health conditions of people,” aggrieved locals said.
