No strike tomorrow, peaceful protests, funeral prayers in absentia for Shopian, Sgr martyrs on May 11: JRL

Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have asked people to hold peaceful protest on May 11, and offer funeral prayers in absentia for Srinagar and Shopian ‘martyrs’.

“As a mark of protest people should wear black bands and hold peacefull protests after friday prayers on May 11,” JRL statement said.

They also asked people to hold funeral prayers in absentia for Srinagar and Shopian Martyrs.

Three militants and a civilian were killed in Srinagar when an encounter between government forces and militants broke out early saturday morning.

the civilian was moved to death by a jammu and kashmri police vehicle. DGP SP Vaid termed it a ‘case of accident.’

In shopian five militants including top HM commander saddam paddar and a newly joined KU professor were killed. during clashes between people trying to break cordon and help millitants to escape five civilians died.

One civilian injured in the clashes succumbed to his injuries at SMHS hospital on Tuesday taking the death toll of civilian casuality to six while the total body count reached 11.
