Srinagar: Traffic on Wednesday resumed on 434-km long Srinagar-Leh highway, connecting Ladakh region, after six days closure.
The road was closed after heavy snowfall in Minimarg, Zojila and adjacent areas of Sonamarg on Friday, forcing suspension of traffic movement on the thoroughfare.
An official said that BRO men and machinery pressed into service since Friday and cleared the snow slides from the highway.
The traffic police officer Sonamarg said that traffic was allowed on highway on Wednesday morning.
Initially the traffic movement was allowed from Drass towards Sonamarg, he said.
