Ganderbal: A 434-km long Srinagar-Leh highway connecting Ladakh region with Kashmir remained closed for third consecutive day due to heavy snowfall on the thoroughfare.
Fresh snowfall was recorded at Meenimarg, Zojila, Sonamarg, Drass, and adjacent areas due to which the highway was closed on Friday and continues to remain shut since then.
DTI Sonamarg Mohammad Ibrahim said about 2.6-ft snow was recorded at Minimarg. He said the numerous snow slides have blocked the highway. He also said BRO men and machinery were on job to clear the road.
