Imran Ansari wrote on Twitter: I would strongly urge my young students to please concentrate on your studies. Understand your anguish against #Kathua but a trial is on. Ministers have resigned. Justice will be delivered. My message to you – pls study.”

The rape and murder of eight-year-old Bakerwal girl, who was raped inside a temple, has created a humongous controversy in the state.

The child was kidnapped on January 10. Over the next week, she was drugged, starved, repeatedly gangraped and then murdered.

It has been alleged that the crime was committed to warn off the Muslim nomadic community away from the areas belonging to Hindus.
