Srinagar: Kulgam police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler and recovered 14 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.

“During naka checking one suspected person who was carrying a nylon bag was intercepted and searched. On search of the said person 14 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered. The said drug peddler who was identified as Salam Din son of Sher Khan resident of Maler Kotla, Punjab was arrested,” police said.

A case FIR No. 86/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation taken up.
