Srinagar: National Conference on Friday cancelled basic membership of its block president Hiranagar for participating in the Hindu Ekta Manch.

Shanti Saroop was expelled with immediate effect by the orders of Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah.

HEM has been rallying for demand to hand over the Kathua rape and murder case to Central bureau of Investigatioin accusing Jammu and kashmir police of being biased.

HEM has been rallying in support of the accused while they used Indian national flag as well in their rallies. Two sitting ministers of the PDP-BJP coalition government too have attended the HEM rally in jammu.

An eight year old girl, from nomadic bakerwal community, was raped and killed by the accused, who are arrested now, in a temple. she was held captive for almost seven days where she was continously drugged empty stomach and repeatedly raped.
