Srinagar: Director General of Police SP Vaid Thursday batted for a dialogue between all the parties of ‘Kashmir conflict’ including ‘Pakistan’ and also said that people should stay away from encounter sites saying ‘They are responsible for their deaths’.
DGP was replying to live question from twitterati on official Jammu and Kashmir police official twitter handle on Thursday.
DGP was asked that what suggestions he has on solving Kashmir conflict.
“I wish Kashmir problem was so simple that I could answer in one reply. So many brains have been working for decades to find solution. Not so simplistic problem . I personally feel gun is not the solution, every party including even our neighbor should sit together and talk it out. Violence is not the solution,” DGP replied.
DGP was posed with hard questions on civilian killings with one twitter handle Abu Talha saying that ‘are you a slave of India’.
“No marriage of a terrorist is happening there and bullet has a trajectory. It will hit and will not distinguish between boy, stone pelter, forces,” he said, but quickly added that ‘ It will be a twitter account from pakistan’.
DGP blamed civilians to be responsible for their deaths as ‘they have no business to be there. Have time and again asked people to stay away from the encounter sites’. “It pains me a lot when civilians lose their lives but they should stay away,” he added.
According to DGP the most challenging task has been 2016 after killing of former Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan wani.
“Post Burhan situation was most challenging task. When charge was given as special DG law and order,” he said.
He also said that his favorite drink in red whine, favorite film Sholay and hobby is to play golf but doesn’t get much time as DGP.
He denied use of any chemical weapon in the encounters saying such things are spread from Pakistan.
On presence Islamic State DGP Vaid said that “My only wish is that they don’t come here”.
On Asifa rape and murder case and demand for CBI probe by some DGP Vaid said that police has no problem with CBI handling case but if ‘jammu and kashmir police can deal with terrorists and stone pelters why cant they deal with case’.
“Police is much competent like CBI,” he said.
