300 stranded passengers evacuated from Mughal Road

Srinagar: Police and Army Wednesday night rescued as many as 300 passengers stranded on Mughal road in Poonch district of Jammu Kashmir.

“Due to sudden snow, around 300 passengers were stranded near Peer Ki Gali on Mughal Road in Surankote due to sudden snowfall on Wednesday evening,” police sources here said.

They said Army, civil administration and police immediately swung into action and launched the rescue operation.

“In an overnight operation, all 300 stranded passengers were timely rescued and shifted to the safer destination,” they added
