Kulgam encounter ends: Civilian death toll 4, no militant body retrieved yet

Srinagar: Civilian death toll in Khudwani encounter has reached four after one more civilian succumbed to bullet injuries. Operation according to officials has ended but no body of a militant has been retrieved from the debris till now.

The fourth civilian to be killed has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Palla, resident of Tulkhan bijbehara, of Anantnag district had ‘received bullet injury in head and neck at Khudwani bridge and he died on spot,’ locals said.

According to reports Aijaz was ‘brought dead to Qaimoh hospital’.

According to officials Kulgam encounter has ended and but no body has been retrieved so far.

“We believe presence of 1-2 militants there,” an official said.
