Tral : Lack of bridge is isolating the habitations of two far-off villages in Tral sub district.
A majority of villages are getting road facilities under The Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and due to efforts of State government. But, certain rural parts are bearing the brunt of the poor connectivity particularly due to the lack of bridges.
The two villages Jawaharpora Lam and Deedarpora Gutengoo in Aripal tehsil of Tral sub district are being cut off due to lack of a bridge across the stream, which lies in the centre of these two villages.
The residents of these habitations, said that, lack of bridge is badly affecting them especially the students as most of the times they aren’t able to reach school due to bad weather conditions.
They said that partial wodden bridge is fixed on the stream by the locals but that always poses threat as it can collapse anytime at the time of rains, which even happened many times before, whenever it rains, and halted public movement for days.
“We are facing immense hardships in absence of bridge on Lam-Gutengoo Nallah. authorities should wake up and reach here to mitigate our problems,” a local resident said.
Residents said they have been asking to authorities for many years to construct a bridge on the said stream, as the local residents of both the villages are facing immense hardships due to lack of bridge on it, but not a single step has been taken till date.
The residents talking to INS requested higher authorities to look into the matter and construct a bridge over the stream.
