Students marched from GDC Kupwara college towards main market and security personals intercepted them near Bohipora bridge.

Clashes erupted between them and police resorted to tear gas to disperse students.

In Handwara students also clashed with security forces, while raising anti India and pro freedom slogans.

In the ensuing clashes police tear gassed the protesting students.

According to police sources a police official  sustained injury in his hand and another was hit with a stone on his chest.

“Both are stable and safe,” officials told INS.
