Despite notice, 10 IAS, 96 KAS officers fail to submit annual property details

Jammu: As many ten IAS and 96 KAS officers have failed to submit their Annual Property Returns for year 2017 despite a notice to them by the government.
Official sources told INS that out of 85 IAS officers from state, 75 have submitted the APRs . Similarly, out of 541 KAS officers, 445 have submitted the details while 96 of them have not filed the details so far despite the notice.
The GAD website puts the number of KAS officers at 518 and property details of only 148 of them have been displayed. Till Sunday, there was no mention of property details in respect o 419 KAS officers.
Similarly, property details in respect of 45 out of 76 IAS officers (as shown) have been displayed on the website.
Every public servant is required to submit annual returns of the assets held by him/her and the family members to GAD in January every year.
They are also required to indicate the reasons for increase, if any, in the assets and source as per the Act. The Act and Rules provide for imposing a penalty for non-submission of the property returns.
If any public servant without any reasonable cause fails to submit the return annually, he or she shall be guilty of committing “criminal misconduct.”
