Sopore: Commuters at the Sopore railway station are accusing authorities of lackadaisical approach as they have to face hardships as ‘they have failed to maintain the station’ including dirty toilets, no separate toilets for ladies.
Commuters say that the railway station lacks facilities including ‘unavailability of drinking water, dirty toilets, no seperate toilets for ladies and no proper seating arrangements for people waiting for trains’.
Sahil Shoosha, a student and a daily traveller told INS that many times we brought these issues to the notice of concerned authorities but hardly they bothered to work on these issues.
“Bathrooms are in bad shape and dogs can be seen roaming the platforms,” Sahil said.
Sopore Station connects three districts of North Kashmir and is one of the busiest stations.
Railway officials, wishing not to be named, told INS that lack of cooperation from people adds to their problems.
“People should take care of stations as well. People use polythene and dump it under seats. we are responsible citizens we should care of these things,” he said
