Srinagar: Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen militant outfit on Saturday claimed responsibility for attack on police station Kralkhud here, saying that its cadres carried out the attack late Saturday evening to avoid civilian casualties.

In an emailed statement issued here, a spokesman of the TeM said there are reports about loss of life and property in the attack but “details could not be ascertained due to the darkness.”

“Following the attack, the forces fired indiscriminately, causing damage to civilian property.” The JeM further said: If India failed to stop playing ‘blood holy’, its consequence will be borne by force personnel and those supporting them.”
