Srinagar: In wake of the strike called by Joint Resistance Leadership and massive protests going in Shopian following the killing of three youth in army action, the railway authorities have decided to suspend train service in Kashmir Valley on Monday. The authorities in Srinagar have also announced restrictions in Old City and parts of Maisuma and Kralgund in Uptown.

A railway department official said that the decision was taken in wake of the apprehension about the law and order disturbance.

meanwhile, reports said that massive protests erupted in Shopian district even as authorities suspended mobile internet in the entire district following the killing. Till this report was filed, there was no official statement by police even army claimed the three youth were killed in retaliation to an attack on its patrol at Pahnoo village by the militants. “A militant and three OWGs accompanying him were killed.”
