JAMMU, Feb 24: The leaders and activists of Jammu and Kashmir Forum for Peace and Territorial Integrity of the State (JKFPTIS) led by its Patron Sheikh Abdul Rehman urged upon Union and State governments to shun the path of suppression and immediately start an unconditional dialogue with all the stake holders of Jammu and Kashmir State.

The protesters assembled at Exhibition Ground and staged a protest cum dharna merged upon the State and Central government to adopt a humane face to the day to day protests in nook and corner of the Valley and engage all stake holders, including Pakistan, to talks to sort out a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem so that the blood of innocent people and also the security forces is not pawed in the earth for no fault on their part.

Sheikh Abdul Rehman while addressing the media said, “The only way out of this problem is to immediately initiate a dialogue with all the stake holders including Hurriyat and Pakistan with no pre-conditions and if anybody thinks that Kashmir problem can be suppressed, he is not only immature but also unaware of the history. The obstinate attitude of Central government not to talk to Pakistan, unless it stops terrorism, has aggravated the situation between the two nuclear countries and Kashmir has become flash point to the great concern of every peace loving citizen.” He urged upon the Central government to engage all stake holders including Pakistan to meaningful peace talks for an amicable solution of the vexed problems.

He further said, ‘It is a failure of Central government which could not solve the problem for last 70 years to the aspiration of people of the state. It is a state of broken promises with the State Subjects that has brought the situation to such a gloomy and horrified point.”

Sanctioning of financial packages will not do here and instead a political solution has to be sought at cross the table,” he added. He further maintained that a sort of fear psychosis prevails up on the minds of people in the valley and demanded immediate dialogue process to be set in motion.
