Jammu: The members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) on Monday urged the Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari to give “equal treatment” to all schools regarding extension of affiliation during the same session 2016.
The members while speaking to INS said according to “Govt. order No:-336-Edu. of 2016 dated 08-09-2016, the schools which had been functioning for more than 10 years and had completed all formalities was granted 3 years extension. And those who had not completed all the formalities before the said date, were kept pending”.
“Now in 2017, all the schools kept pending in 2016 were given 5 years extension in terms of Govt Order No.112-Edu. Of 2017, dated 09-03-2017, even though some of them have been functioning even for less than 10 years but those who have been running high schools for more than 10 years have been granted extension for 3 years only which otherwise were required to be considered for grant of extension for 5 years as in the other case of extension of affiliation of the same period i.e. 2016.”
“This means that those schools which had qualified for extension of affiliation in 2016 were granted extension of 3 years only and those which were not qualified then, got 5 years extension later on,” they maintained.
MPEJ appealed education minister to look into the matter and the extension of affiliation/ Recognition of 3 years given to schools be treated as extension of affiliation/recognition of 5 years to the schools which had been functioning for more than 10 years so that they may not be subjected to “injustice”.
