Srinagar: The Bandipora family whose 45-days-old infant died on Thursday at SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina staged protest against the hospital authorities on Friday saying they lost their child after doctors administered vaccine to the baby.
The family demanded strict action against the doctors. They said doctors administered vaccines to five children simultaneously on Wednesday night in ward number 7 of the hospital.
“Shortly after vaccines were administered to these babies, they felt unconscious. One of them was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura while our child died at 2 am,” Mushtaq Ahmed, the father of deceased baby told reporters, adding that the other three children were shifted to ICU.
“Our child was suffering from pneumonia. His condition had become stable and hospital authorities were scheduled to discharge him today,” Mushtaq added.
Demanding probe, the family members sought the intervention of health minister Bali Bhagat.
