Pulwama: Residents of Wahibugh in this south Kashmir’s district have accused authorities of failing to provide them uninterrupted drinking water supply.
Locals said that they are suffering immensely due to acute water shortage which they have been facing since past one month.
“Due to shortage of drinking water, people here are facing lot of problems. Despite frequent reminders, the PHE authorities didn’t even tell us the reason of interruption and have failed to restore the supply till now,” one of the residents rued. “The problem in this winter makes matters worse.”
They said that Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has left them at the God’s mercy even though it “has many employees from our village”.
The residents have appealed the higher officials of PHE to look into the problem and redress their genuine demands at the earliest.
When contacted Executive Engineer PHE (Division Shopian), Nisar Ahmad, he said, “I will be visiting the area today to look into the matter.”
“I will take action against involved employees if found guilty for delaying the process of restoration,” Nisar added.
