Govt forms panel to bring Horticulture Deptt at par with national framework

Srinagar: The State government on Thursday constituted a committee headed by Chief Secretary to study the scope and definition of “Horticulture” in Government of India and other states of the country so as to bring the Horticulture Department at par with the national framework.
It is amide to facilitate correct assessment of growth in the horticulture sector in the State, for improved perspective planning and harnessing vast potential in the Horticulture sector.
Besides Chief Secretary as chairman, the members include administrative secretaries of Finance, Planning Development and Monitoring Department and Administrative Secretary Horticulture (as member secretary).
