Srinagar: Kashmir Valley and Kishtwar district in Jammu remained curfew and restrictions on 186 times in last two year, the government said on Tuesday.
In a written reply to a question by legislator, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Legislative Assembly, currently in Budget Session, said the government imposed curfew and restrictions on 186 times in valley.
She informed the House that the police districts in the state which remained curfew was imposed 51 times in Anantnag, on seven occasions in Kulgam, Shopian (14), Pulwama (7), Srinagar (25), Ganderbal (3), Sopore (22), Baramulla (15), Bandipora (9), Awantipora (10) and on five occasions in Kishtwar. Mehbooba said restrictions were imposed as necessitated by the situation.
She also said that cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) were carried out on specific information.
