Jammu: The two Sweden skiers, one of whom died and another rescued after they were swept away by an avalanche at Gulmarg on Thursday, had ignored official advisory, Minister for Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Javaid Mustafa Mir told legislative assembly on Friday.
“The skiers had ignored the advisory about the avalanche,” the Minister informed the House, presently in its Budget session.
25-year-old Daniel died and his colleague Benjamin was rescued by Joint Rescue Team and shifted to the Sub District Hospital, Tangmarg. “His condition is stable,” he said.
The minister said that Daniel’s body has been shifted to Police Control Room Srinagar for legal-medical formalities and would be flown to his native country for last rites.
