Jammu: There is no timeline in spending Rs 82453 crore Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb A Drabu informed the legislative assembly on Tuesday.
He said on date the estimated size of PMDP was Rs 82453 crore and the projects instituted under it were at different stages of execution.
The Minister was replying to a question by BJP MLA Rajiv Jasrotia. He said the package aims at overall development of the State and cannot be segregated at regional, sub-regional or district levels.
“There is no timeline prescribed for spending but it depends on our capacity to spend.”
He said that a number of steps have been taken to implement the projects under the package in a time bound manner which include inter-alia, finalization of location and scoping of individual projects, formulation of Preliminary Project Reports (PPRs) and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and concretising financing of the projects particularly in view of requirement of State share and resources for development of infrastructure concomitant to the main project for speedy and time bound implementation of the specific projects. He said that nearly all the projects have been taken up and are at different stages of contracting and or execution.
