Srinagar: The Government forces on Sunday detected another Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected militants near Maloora on Srinagar-Bandipora district on the outskirts of summer capital Srinagar.
Official sources said that the IED was detected by road opening party on a roadside. Bomb disposal squad was called and they have reached the spot, they said. The area was cordoned off and traffic was diverted, the official said.
On weekend, forces defused a 5-kg IED in the area near HMT area. On January 6 this year, four policemen were killed in an IED blast in Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to IGP Kashmir Muneer Khan, the January 6 IED blast was after two years that such explosion took place.
