Sopore: IGP Kashmir Muneer Khan led police and security officers in paying homage and last respects to the slain police personnel at DPL Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
Four cops were killed while few others reportedly sustained splinter injuries in a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Sopore town on Saturday morning.
Besides ADGP Muneer Khan, ADGP Armed SA Mujtaba, SSP Baramulla, SSP Sopore, CO 22RR and CO 179CRPF also paid tributes to the slain policemen.
Police identified the deceased policemen as ASI Irshad Ahmad, EXK number 825685, resident of Doda; Constable Ghulam Nabi, Belt number 720/IRP 3rd, resident of Rohama, Rafiaabad, Sopore; Constable Parvaiz Ahmad, Belt number 915/IRP 3rd, resident of Villigam Handwara; Constable Mohammad Amin, Belt number 470/IRP 3rd, resident of Sogam, Kupwara.
