SRINAGAR, AUG 4 :- A convoy of Indian police vehicles patrol on the sixth consecutive day of a curfew in Srinagar August 4, 2010. New Delhi: An alert has been sounded by security agencies after an SUV with a “JK” number plate belonging to the CRPF was stolen from outside the force’s camp last month, official sources said.
The warning by agencies has been issued against the misuse of the vehicle by militants on January 26, the Republic Day.
Official sources said a white Sumo Victa of the Central Reserve Police Force having the official number plate ‘JK 02A W5441’ was stolen from outside a camp of the force in R K Puram area on the intervening night of December 29-30.
The CCTV footage has shown that the vehicle, with a ‘Police’ sticker, was stolen by at least three people that night, sources said.
