Baramulla: Police has solved within 24 hours the mysterious murder of a woman whose body was found lying in an orchard in Juhama area of this north Kashmir district on Friday.
The case was solved with the help of CCTV footage of district hospital Baramulla, police sources told INS.
They said accused, Gulzar Ahmad son of Ghulam Mohammad of Naidkhai, Sumbal, has been arrested.
The accused had raped the woman in the apple orchard before murdering her.
“He had smashed her head with stone,” they said. The slain woman has seven children.
Gulzar has relatives at Delina, Baramulla.
Meanwhile, a case under FIR number 228/2017 under section 302 has been registered in police station Baramulla.
