Hubli (Karnataka): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has slammed the Congress for choosing Tipu Sultan over Lord Hanuman, saying this shows the difference in mentality between the ruling party in Karnataka and the BJP.

“Hanuman ji ki pooja nahi karte, Tipu Sultan ki pooja kar rahe hain. Yeh maansikta ka antar hai (they don’t worship Lord Hanuman, they worship Tipu Sultan. This is the difference in mentality),” the visiting UP CM said here.

He said Congress is going to meet the same fate in Karnataka which it met in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

“Gujarat aur Himachal Pradesh ne kharij kiya hai. Karnataka Congress ko kharij kar degi toh Tipu Sultan ki pooja karne wala koi nahi rahega (Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh have rejected them. When Karnataka will also reject the Congress, there will be no one left to worship Tipu Sultan),” Adityanath added.

Addressing a BJP public meeting here on Wednesday, the BJP leader had asked voters to choose between Tipu Sultan and Lord Hanuman.
