Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Friday welcomed the backing of the resolution, calling USA, to drop its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, by 128 countries of the World at the United Nations General Assembly despite the threatening given by USA President Donald Trump to cut of Financial aid to countries, which may vote in favour of the resolution.
In a statement, the lawyers body termed it as a moral victory of Palestinian people and “a set back to the American imperialism and hegemony in the world and also extension of its support to ruthless Israel by ordering the shifting of its Embassy from Tal-Aviv to Jerusalem.”
The Bar Association, a spokesman said, feels that if America has any respect for the world opinion, it should, immediately drop its idea of shifting its Embassy from Tal-Aviv to Jerusalem and not to endanger the world peace by sticking to its immoral and illegal decision.
The Bar Association also supports the efforts made by Pakistani Representative in the Security Council in inviting the attention of the members of the Security Council towards the pestering issues of Kashmir and Palestine and in asking them to settle the long pending demands of the people of these two regions, by agreeing and accepting their demands, so as to establish peace and tranquility in the world.
The Bar Association also condemned the re-arrest and detention of Asiya Andrabi, DeM chief who was granted bail by a court at Srinagar on yesterday but instead of releasing her, she was booked in an FIR of 2010, so as to make her release impossible and was lodged at some unknown place.
It also condemned the whisking away of Mushtaq-ul-Islam, whose order of detention was quashed by the High Court “but instead of releasing him, he was detained at some unknown place.”
The Bar Association requests the United Nations Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, Asia Watch and other Human Rights Organizations of the world to take notice of the treatment meted out to political detainees and undertrial prisoners of Kashmir and the disdain and contempt shown by the ruthless authorities in disobeying the orders of the Courts, so as to perpetuate the illegal detention of political prisoners in violation of the International Law on flimsy and baseless grounds.
