Srinagar: Asserting that FIR registered by the police in killing of a driver in alleged security force firing must be taken to a logical conclusion, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said ‘killed in cross fire can’t be a justification for it’.
“The FIR registered by the police must be taken to its logical conclusion.
Killed in cross fire can’t be a justification for Asif Iqbal’s death,” Mr Abdullah, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Massive protests erupted in some parts of Kupwara after a driver, Asif Iqbal, was allegedly killed in security force firing during the intervening night of December 16-17.
However, Defence Ministry spokesperson said the civilian was killed in cross firing between militants and security forces and investigation has been initiated.
