Divisional commissioner orders sealing of all unregistered coaching centres

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan on Friday directed the officials to seal all unregistered coaching centres and those centres which do not fulfil all the parameters laid down by the government for proper functioning of these centres.
The Divisional commissioner today chaired a high-level meeting that was attended DDC Srinagar, Director School Education Kashmir and other officials. The DDC’s of other districts participated via video conferencing.
The Divisional commissioner stressed on the ned to streamline the entire coaching sector so as to maximize the benefit to students and avoid any exploitation and offering of below par service by these centres. The Divisional commissioner said that all those coaching centres which are not registered or whose registration is still under process should be sealed immediately.
The Divisional commissioner directed the DC’s and DSEK to form various teams that will inspect the coaching centres in their respective districts and see whether the coaching centres fulfill various parameters laid down by the government. He said that those coaching centres who lack facilities like qualified tutors or absence of heating arrangements and so on should be sealed with immediate effect.
The divisional commissioner said that government is committed to propagate quality education at all levels.
