Shopian: Residents of Vedpora village in south Kashmir’s  Shopian district urged Roads and Buildings Department to repair the ‘only road connecting the hamlet with shopian town’.

The small village 12 km from shopian told INS that the diversion in Nallah lar connects vedpora to other villages of district pulwama.

“After 2014 floods the water flows above the diversion and cracks are visible in its bondaries and today a deep hole happened, endangering lives,” they said.

According to residents they have time and again informed R&B department about the bad conditions of diversion but ‘to no avail’.

“Whenever  there is a downpour the water level of Nallah flows above it,” they said.

“We had to undergo lot of problems during apple season,” they said.

“We appeal district administration and MLA shopian to look into this matter so that the diversion is repaired and they can have a sigh of relief,” they said.
