Public transport is off the roads while as business establishments are closed.

The government has detained Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, at his Hyderpora home while as his deputy Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai was placed under house arrest at Baghat.

Senior resistance leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, was detained in his Nigeen residence since last Thursday evening.

Part of JRL, Mohammad Yasin Malik, has gone in to hiding on Friday to lead the protests today.
