Srinagar: Police on Saturday said to have recovered a minor girl, who was “kidnapped by a resident of Jharkhand” from Pune, the second largest city of Maharashtra.
“On December 2, one person (name withheld) lodged a complaint in Police Station D.H Pora, Kulgam that his minor daughter (name withheld) is missing from his residence. Accordingly a missing report was lodged and investigation was started,” a police spokesman said.
During the course of investigation, the spokesman said, it came to fore that the girl has been “kidnapped” by one Roshan son of Miyan Nabi, a resident of Jharkhand who took her to Pune. A case was registered and investigation was taken up, the spokesman said.
“Accordingly, a police team was deputed to the location for tracing out the missing girl. After strenuous efforts, the minor girl was recovered from Pune along with the accused,” the spokesman added.
