Poonch:  Two section officers of the J&K State Board of School Education (BOSE) have been placed under suspension for their alleged involvement in bunglings and gross irregularities in Mendhar Sub office of the School Board.

Secretary-cum-Incharge Chairperson of the BOSE, Prof Veena Pandita after receiving inquiry report from the committee constituted, placed both the officials, Section Officer, Board Sub Office Poonch, Dev Dutt and Romesh  Chander, section officer, Incharge Branch office, Sunderbani, under suspension.

It may be recalled that few months ago, the matter related to embezzlement of Government money worth over Rs 12 lakh in BOSE Sub Office Mendhar came to notice of the higher authorities. After this, the Secretary Board ordered an inquiry and also framed a committee led by Assistant Secretary Audit (JD).

While a temporary employee, Sultan Mehmood at Board office Mendhar was disengaged immediately by the BOSE authorities, after receiving final report from the committee the then Incharge BOSE Sub Office, Mendhar Dev Dutt and Romesh Chander were placed under suspension by the Secretary. It was found that these irregularities/ bunglings pertained to their period of stay in Mendhar Board Sub Office as Incharge. They have been attached to the office of Joint Secretary Administration, (BOSE), Jammu till further orders.
