Srinagar: Shiv Sena activisits trying to hoist Indian National Flag at city centre Lal chowk were detained by police on Wednesday morning.
Eyewitnesses told INS that at least 20 persons emerged near Ghanta Ghar and tried to hoist the flag but government forces stopped them.
“Police cane charged them from clock tower and later bundled them in police gypsy,” the eyewitnesses said.
Chief Patron of National Conference Farooq Abdullah had challenged the Indians to hoist the Tricolour at Lal Chowk.
Abdullah had last week said, “They are talking about raising the flag in PaK (Pakistan administered Kashmir). I ask them to go and raise the tricolor at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. They cannot even do that and they are talking about (PaK).”
