Srinagar: Police on Monday said that two more militants have shunned militancy and returned home in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Two more boys shunned the path of violence and returned home who went astray and joined the ranks of militants. Welcome back home!” tweeted Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid.

The militants, according to reports, hailed from Hawoora and Sangam areas of south Kashmir.

“A Chinese pistol was recovered from their possession,” they said.

However, sources said that those detained were not listed militants and were apprehended by the forces.

“They were apprehended from Maternity and Children’s Hospital Sherbagh Anantnag along with a pistol,” they said.
