Srinagar, Nov 30: A seven-day workshop on ‘Research Methodology in Economics and Allied Subjects’ concluded at the University of Kashmir on Thursday.

The workshop was organised by the Department of Economics to acquaint the participants with use and application of research methods and techniques for analysis and comprehensive interpretation of both quantitative and qualitative data.

The workshop was attended by 48 participants.

Prof KR Shanmugam, Director Madras School of Economics Chennai; Prof S Madheshwaran from Centre for Economic Studies and Policy, Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore; Prof Effat Yasmin, Head Department of Economics University of Kashmir; Dr. Abhay Kumar, Executive Director Lokasharya Foundation New Delhi and Dr Javaid Iqbal Khan, senior Assistant Professor, Department of Economics UoK, were the resource persons.

The valedictory function among others was attended by Prof Zaffar Ahmad Reshi, Dean Research, University of Kashmir, and Prof BA Khan, former HOD Economics, University of Kashmir. The workshop coordinator Dr Javaid Iqbal Khan presented a detailed report on technical sessions while Dr Sabina Ahad, Assistant Professor of Economics at Government Degree College for Women Nawakadal presented vote of thanks.
