Govt announces winter vacations for schools

Srinagar: Government on Friday announced winter vacations dates for the Government/private schools in the Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division of the state.

As per the order issued by the school education department, winter vacations from primary to class 8th will start from December 3 while as for High and Higher Secondary classes winter vacations will start from December 10.

The last working day for classes up to class 8th will be December 2 while as vacations for high and higher secondary classes will be observed from December 11 to February 24, 2018.

“The winter vacations for primary to class 8th will end on March 03 2018,” the government order reads.

It further reads that officials associated with conduct of practical examination, if any shall avail winter vacations only after conclusion of practical exams.
