Srinagar: Civil Secretariat, the seat of the government, will reopen in winter capital Jammu on Monday as part of the biannual Darbar move.

Darbar Move is a century-old practice started by then Maharaja who used to shift his capital between Srinagar (summer) and Jammu (winter) to escape extreme weather conditions in these places.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will be given guard of honour by the Jammu and Kashmir Police contingent at Civil Secretariat complex. She will take salute on the occasion and inspect the contingent that will participate in the function.
Meanwhile, Security has been beefed up in and around Civil Secretariat for the opening day of Darbar Move offices.
