Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday expressed contentment over educated youth taking a lead in establishing business ventures instead of running after government jobs.
Appreciating the efforts of Kashmiri youth in taking a lead in setting up their own business ventures, Mirwaiz said that he was glad to see that young educated of Kashmir are coming forward to defeat the problem of growing unemployment in Kashmir and are setting up innovative business ventures to earn their livelihood.
Inaugurating many new business ventures set up by Kashmiri youth in Srinagar which include “Downtown Cafe at Gojwara, Mustaqeem Diagnostic Centre at Hawal, and Hooked Foods” at Nigeen, Mirwaiz expressed satisfaction over the growing sense of belonging among the Kashmir’s young educated lot who have decided to take on the issue of rising unemployment head-on through their creative business ventures that would help them earn a sustained livelihood.
He appreciated the owners of the newly inaugurated business ventures, stating that he was glad to see youth deciding to defeat unemployment by not running after government jobs and wasting time in long queues outside government offices and instead taking a lead role in establishing good business ventures that would set the base for Kashmir’s own private sector which has remained in doldrums over the past 27 years of instability.
He said that Islam also teaches us to earn our livelihood through ‘halaal’ means and there was appreciation for those who stand-up on their own feet and earn their living in a clean manner.
He said Kashmir was full of talent and urged the youth of Kashmir take a cue from the young educated owners of the new business ventures.
