Samboora encounter: Killed militant of JeM, shutdown being observed

Srinagar: Shutdown is being observed in some areas of Pulwama district after killing of a Jaish e Mohammad militant last night in an encounter between militants and forces in Samboora village of Pampore.

The official twitter handle of Jammu and Kashmir police said said that the slain militant was identified as Badar of JeM. “He was involved in a number of militant acts in south Kashmir,” the tweet reads.

Two army men were also killed in the gunfight that erupted last night.

The gunfight erupted after 50RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned off the area after inputs about the presence of militants.

Mobile Internet remains suspended in the district which was snapped last night after the gunfight had erupted.
