Riyadh: Srinagar Strikers Jeddah (SSJ) registered the emphatic victory of the tournament so far by blasting away the good total of 174 runs made by Rajbagh Royals Riyadh (RRR) in just 11 overs. Rajbagh Royals won the first match of the 4th week of Kashmir Premier League by nine wickets.

Bilal Wani’s blistering innings of 136 runs of just 39 balls powered by 17 sixes hastened the chase which has so far now been the highest chase of the tournament.

Earlier, SSJ won the toss and decided to bowl first. RRR compiled huge total of 174 runs in 20 overs. Tanveer Bhat scored 59 runs for RRR and helped team reach their highest total of the tournament. Syed Anayat, Faisal Wani and Majid proved very good with the willow. For SSJ Mushtaq Ahmed and Aijaz Kanth picked two wickets each.

In reply, Bilal Wani’s smashed 136 runs of just 39 balls to take his side home in just 11.2 overs.

He hit bowlers of RRR all around the park and helped team secure place in knock-outs of KPL.

From RRR Altaf Shah took only wicket which SSJ lost thus SSJ registered emphatic victory by 9 wickets.

Bilal Wani was the obvious choice for his fastest and match winning score 136 of 39 balls.

Tanveer Bhat was adjudged as the performer of the match for his mature and calculative innings for RRR.

In the afternoon match, Downtown Dynamites Alkharj (DDA) defeated Rawalakote Rangers Jubail (RRJ).

RRJ won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 152 runs in allotted 20 overs. Sohail Latif and Amer Pervez scored 36 and 35 respectively. It was spell of Azhar Banday in which he took five wickets ripping through RRJ batting line up and restricted them to 152 runs.

In reply it was Azhar Banday again but this time with golden bat played a match winning innings of 63 runs and took DDK to a comfortable win over RRJ.

Azhar Banday became first player of the tournament who took five wkts and scored half century in the match. Man of the match was awarded to none other Azhar Banday, Amer Pervez was performer of the match for his batting and economical bowling.

In the last match of the day and the 12th match of the KPL, Baramullah Bashers Nofa (BBN) outplayed Anantnag Avengers Abha (AAA). BBN won the toss and elected to bat first and scored mammoth total of 263 for the loss of two wickets. Captain Asmat Khan scored 108 of 42 balls, Lukman and Sohail Ahmed scored 49 and 61 respectively. From AAA Salil Mir and Majid Bashir took 1 wicket each. While chasing mammoth total of 263, AAA were bundled out on 88/9, BBN bowlers proved again difficult to bat against, Lukman picked 4, while Imran and Qamar scalped 2 each.

Asmat Khan was adjudged Man of the match for his score of 108 runs, Lukman Khan got performer of the match award for his 4/22 figures.
